UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS
Stovall Hall
The University of North Texas hired Huckabee to design a renovation/remodel of an existing 7,100-sf gymnasium into office space for two tenants: the Texas Historical Society and the UNT Press. Huckabee took advantage of the existing 2-story volume and natural daylighting. New, suspended pendant light fixtures were provided to supplement the natural light already abundant in the space, and ceiling clouds were installed over occupied spaces to reflect light onto the workstations below. The project featured open office systems furniture, with select rooms enclosed for acoustic isolation, including a conference room and several offices. The facility also received new paint and carpet, new built-in casework and a new secured front entry vestibule.
