MISD Center for the Performing Arts
The construction of the state-of-the-art Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts was made possible due to significant savings in the construction of Mansfield Lake Ridge High School and other bond projects. The Center is an impressive, multi-purpose venue unique in function and design that serves not only students and staff, but the entire community. The fine arts portion of the building is a versatile auditorium with flexible seating arrangements in order to accommodate a range of performances and gatherings. Other unique and innovative features include an 80-foot open stage design with a retractable proscenium curtain, a digital sound enhancement system that can replicate a variety of chamber hall acoustics and lecture halls that cascade directly onto the stage and can easily be “subtracted” from the main hall using 50-foot high moveable acoustic wall panels. The high-tech professional development center houses a 500-seat multi-use space that is sub-dividable into six smaller meeting rooms by moveable partition walls.
