New Intermediate School
Klein ISD’s new intermediate school is choice-driven, creating a dynamic and multi-functional learning environment for students and educators. The school is divided into learning communities for 6th grade, STEM and humanities. Each space is functionally independent, offering a 2-story “pod” with classrooms, labs, administrative offices and collaboration zones.
At the heart of the school is a learning commons that opens up to academic wings, athletics, assembly space and the cafeteria. The commons incorporates traditional library concepts with technology, small group learning zones, makerspace (located adjacent to the STEM community) and movable walls and furniture. A bistro connects the commons with the cafeteria.
