Jarrell High School

The additions and renovations to Jarrell High School will allow the district to accommodate a growing student body and will enhance the fine arts program. The additions include a new classroom wing, auditorium and black box theater. The library and cafeteria will be expanded for additional student capacity.

The classroom addition is a 2-story building that is pulled away from the existing building to maintain natural light for existing and new classrooms. The compact footprint reduces travel distances for students and works within the available buildable area. The first floor contains eight general classrooms and has widened corridors, providing individual work and group collaboration space. The second floor contains four flexible science labs. The 750-seat auditorium, scene shop, dressing rooms and black box theater are connected to the main building with a secure corridor. The lobby is positioned to provide easy access to both existing parking areas and the existing band hall.
