MIDLOTHIAN ISD
J. R. Irvin Elementary School
Midlothian ISD’s new elementary school is divided into three learning communities, each featuring classrooms, teacher design labs and central collaboration space. They line up along a central spine that features the learning commons, dining and a stage. This creates exciting sight lines and a shared space for socialization, peer-to-peer engagement, large assemblies and instruction. An enclosed outdoor courtyard is located near the art room and classrooms and creates additional space for exploration and creativity-based curriculum. The exterior aesthetic is modern, which is representative of the learning environment as a whole.
