Hope Elementary School

Hope Elementary School first opened its doors in 1986 and has experienced significant growth in recent years. Designed in a central courtyard concept, the school had 18 portables and permanent buildings that were in need of upgrades. In order to continue serving the current and projected student population, the Carlsbad Unified School District prioritized the modernization of multiple elementary schools, including Hope Elementary School.

The project encompassed the removal of 10 relocatable buildings, the construction of four new single-story buildings consisting of 16 classrooms, the modernization of five existing single-story buildings consisting of 12 classrooms, the expansion and modernization of an existing administration / MPR building, the construction of two lunch shelters, the installation of new playground equipment and related site work.

Students at Hope Elementary School enjoy modern learning environments, including new regular and STEAM classrooms, an expanded multipurpose room and a renovated library. These modernized facilities allow the Carlsbad Unified School District to continue providing high-quality education and prepare students to succeed in college and careers.
