As a former facilities planning director working with multiple school districts, Julie has a deep understanding of what our clients need and expect through out the planning and design process. As a planner, Julie works with all stakeholders to explore and define client goals, develop a program and set a project up for long-term success.
Lauren guides clients to identity their facility needs and find creative solutions to programming challenges. With a background in interior design, Lauren knows the importance of well-planned environments that support student engagement and flexible use. She takes an analytical, purposeful approach to help clients pinpoint ways to improve their students’ experiences. An organized and friendly team member, Lauren likes to think outside of the box to create exciting, student-centered solutions.
Justin has a background in communications, public affairs and public relations with a focus on education. He joins Huckabee from a fast-growing public school district where he supported the development of the district strategic plan, led the communication strategy for the largest bond referendum in the district’s history, and developed strategies to engage with lawmakers on issues that impact public schools.
In his role as Client Communications Director at Huckabee, Justin continues to support education by working alongside school districts to help communicate complex issues to all stakeholders and build a continuous pipeline for community engagement. As a lifelong public-school advocate, he is dedicated to the success of all students in all aspects of his work, and he brings this passion to our clients, projects and communities.
Traci has two decades of communication expertise in public education, with a focus on strategic planning and community engagement. With a talent for impactful visual communications and versatile writing, she drives effective messaging for complex issues. Traci’s commitment to “informed engagement” involves comprehensive public relations planning with tailored strategies for each community’s unique audiences, needs and circumstances. Her proactive approach of educating and activating community members has fueled successful, award-winning bond programs. As a Texas public school graduate, wife of a teacher, mother of students, voter, donor, volunteer and trusted advisor, Traci is unwaveringly dedicated to making a meaningful impact in public education.
Kim has over 18 years of experience in school district communications. She has led internal and external communication efforts, social media, website design and development, crisis communication, marketing, and campaigns. Kim uses her vast experience in public education to find innovative ways to market and communicate to client communities that blend in with existing district communications strategies. She is focused on shining the spotlight on the great stories that emerge from classrooms and providing quality information to staff, parents, students, and the community built on trust and transparency.
A former journalist and school district communications director, Arena has spent the last 15 years utilizing online trends and technology to build and engage digital communities through customized content, including websites, video and social media. She helps school districts implement a strategic communications plan to tell their story and drive community engagement through comprehensive public relations campaigns. Arena uses her unique perspective, having successfully passed bonds working as part of a school district and with Huckabee, to understand and meet the needs of each client through responsive, thoughtful and intentional solutions.
Rudy blends a keen sense of design with meticulous attention to detail. With 20 years of experience in educational design, Rudy permeates a passion for its profound impact on young minds and their futures. With comprehensive experience spanning all project phases from preliminary design to construction administration, Rudy brings a holistic approach to every project, ensuring lasting and meaningful contributions for our clients.
Idaliza brings 18 years of experience in education and commercial projects to the Huckabee team. Having deliberately chosen roles that broaden her experience in all aspects and phases of a project, she has developed a deep technical understanding of what it takes to bring ideas to reality. Her strong leadership and pragmatism coupled with a forward-thinking and creative approach encourages stakeholders to engage and build consensus during design and ensures a solid strategic plan on which to execute a successful project.
As Director of Marketing, Bergen supports Huckabee’s strategic growth and leads the firm’s business development and communications efforts. She has been with Huckabee for more than seven years, developing and implementing comprehensive strategies and solutions that respond to the complex needs of public education. Bergen also works with our clients and the Huckabee team to share the stories that shape public education and celebrate the impact we collectively have on the success of all students.

Her commitment to building trust and cultivating long-term relationships ensures that our clients’ voices are the driving force from design through to close out. Karla’s consistent communication fosters meaningful collaboration between both clients and consultants. Since joining the firm in 2003, Andrew has been involved in numerous community college and K-12 projects as a designer, project manager, project director on the program / construction management side and now office director. He came to the firm with a large portfolio of educational work and has dedicated his career to the success of students through the design of safe, quality learning environments. His recent experience includes guiding the Los Alamitos Unified School District through a $163 million Measure ‘K’ bond program which focused on modernization. Today, he provides leadership to the firm as Office Director and serves as a trusted advisor for our clients to ensure quality delivery in all aspects of design and project management.
Andrew obtained his Bachelor of Environmental Design and his Bachelor of Architecture from North Dakota State University. His personal passion is cycling and frequently seeks out century rides and Ultra Endurance mountain bike races.
Richard Ingrassia serves as Office Director of Los Angeles and has served our clients locally for more than 30 years. He helped set the standard of “white glove” service that characterizes our approach to personalized project delivery. In all aspects, Richard is an expert at guiding complex developments through the intricacies of planning, design and construction. He has been recognized by clients for his ability to understand their needs and engender the confidence among all stakeholders in addressing their concerns.
As a designer, Richard possesses a commitment to sustainability. He believes in practical sustainable solutions that offer clients long-term operational savings with a low initial capital investment. With the philosophy that good sustainable design does not need to cost more, Richard encourages the sustainable principles in all practical applications within the firm’s practice.
Phyllis facilitates a comprehensive planning process that engages district stakeholders and volunteers in the prioritization of projects that often result in a bond program. She leads groups with an honest and direct approach, positive encouragement and the confidence of more than 20 years of experience in community engagement. Phyllis’ background is rooted in volunteerism and community leadership. She has served on school district long-range planning committees, superintendent round table committees and district improvement committees. Her engagement also includes two decades in the Fraternity and Sorority Political Action Committee, the City of Fort Worth Library Advisory Board, numerous Parent Teacher Organizations and her local Council of PTAs.
Brian has dedicated his career to educational architecture. For the last 16 years, he’s contributed to and led projects that serve a range of student needs—from academic facilities to specialized buildings that support fine arts, athletics and administrative functions. He feels strongly that he can have a positive impact on students, and therefore our future, through his work. As Director of Fort Worth and a Principal, Brian is as well known for his technical approach and ability to problem solve, as he is as a mentor and champion for the Huckabee culture, clients and people.
With over a decade of experience and an affinity for renovation work, Joshua has served school systems across Texas—providing project leadership for early education and K-12 facilities. As a Principal, Joshua is known for his discipline, responsibility and focus. He pours himself into a project, making sure his clients are heard and while providing consistent guidance throughout. As a result, Joshua has contributed to a number of award-winning projects that meet the unique needs of the communities he serves.
Michael is a licensed architect and a graduate of Texas Tech University. As Principal, he provides expertise in early education, K-12 and higher education project management. One of Michael’s greatest assets is his ability to listen and transform feedback into a successful design that holistically addresses a client’s facility needs. He excels at fostering collaboration and communication between the project team, consultants and clients to create thoughtful solutions that address needs for short- and long-term viability as well as concepts that holistically address educational delivery goals.
Linda is an established Principal with over 28 years of experience in the Texas market. Her work includes K-12 and higher education with a focus on the San Antonio region. As a registered architect, registered interior designer and LEED Accredited Professional with a deep proficiency in sustainable design, she brings a wealth of knowledge that ensures thoroughly detailed, successful projects with razor-sharp execution built on her ability to foster strong relationships between clients, consultants and contractors.
Kate is a seasoned architect whose career has centered around designing educational environments. She started at Huckabee over 16 years ago and has since positively impacted clients, colleagues and students through her technical skills, ability to lead and mentor, and passion for inspiring the next generation. Kate is a dedicated Principal who has skillfully guided complex projects of varying scope through design and construction. Notably, she also leads the ACE Mentor Program in Fort Worth, an organization that supports high school students in their pursuit of architecture, engineering and construction fields.
