Huckabee is seeking applicants for an experienced Construction Observer to become part of our team.  This individual will observe projects for consistent compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards of practice while serving as liaison to the project manager and the client on multiple projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a resource and liaison between owners, architects, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist with identification and resolution of problems for construction projects
  • Review submittal data including shop drawings, product data, and mock-ups
  • Review and issue change orders
  • Attend owner architect contractor (OAC) meetings and visit construction problems
  • Submit weekly field observation reports
  • Track and answer requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposals (RFP)
  • Track, log and verify payment applications
  • Monitor project expenditures and budget
  • Review contractors’ payment applications
  • Produce efficient and concise meeting minutes

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry is required
  • Advanced understanding and experience with construction drawings, sketches, diagrams, plans and specifications
  • Basic knowledge of masonry, ICF, and steel stud construction
  • Experience with Newforma and BIM 360 preferred
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Office Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Office Manager to support the Houston Office. The successful candidate will support the Office Director while managing administrative responsibilities, facility operations, and will uphold Huckabee culture by greeting guest in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open and close office, and welcome visitors upon arrival
  • Answer, screen, and act upon phone calls as appropriate
  • Serve as a partner to Office Directors, ensuring high-quality office service support for all Houston Office employees whether remote or in-person
  • Maintain a clean and visually appealing office environment and conduct janitorial spot checks daily
  • Provide project-based support for employees including: scheduling continuing education presentations, formatting specifications, large format printing/scanning, creating spreadsheets, writing meeting minutes or agendas and regulatory assistance
  • Handle general employee communications around facilities procedures, cultural events and office updates. Help to plan and execute cultural initiatives and activities for team
  • Work alongside Human Resources and IT to assist with onboarding process for new employees, helping to facilitate trainings, meetings and coordinate paperwork
  • Act as office liaison to building management company and point of contact for office administrative and facility related issues
  • Coordinate office security, emergency procedure training, and designate floor wardens
  • Maintain coffee machines and service areas
  • Prepare, setup/breakdown, and clean before and after office lunches, meetings, and event

REQUIREMENTS

Financial Analyst

Structural Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer who will be responsible for structural engineering analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, light-gage, and wood structures and will participate in the production of structural contract drawings, primarily using Revit.  The position requires the ability to work closely with an integrated, multi-discipline team under tight deadlines and communicate clearly (both in writing and verbally).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for structural design solutions to meet the clients program requirements through building system concepts, framing concepts, lateral design, framing design, foundation design, and specifications
  • Familiar with the structural design and detailing of concrete, steel and masonry building components
  • Responsible for the structural design and engineering production of assigned projects and/or the delegation of structural engineering tasks and coordination items when being assisted by other structural team members
  • Maintain active awareness of production schedule by reviewing assigned projects for completeness/accuracy for minimum content at key project milestones
  • Produce and/or supervise the production of 3D structural Revit models using integrated Architectural and MEP Revit models for coordination. This includes providing drafting direction and guidance to the assigned Revit Designer
  • Participate in and document project meetings including, but not limited to, architectural design and coordination, geotechnical report meetings, and project coordination meetings
  • Coordinate structural construction drawings with Architectural, Civil, MEP, and other consultant as required
  • Perform Structural Construction Administration tasks including, but not limited to site visits and assessments, field observations and reports, shop drawing review and response to project RFI’s
  • Ability to manage multiple assigned projects with staggered project phases. May occasionally be responsible for multiple concurrent projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • P.E., and/or SE registration required – must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
  • Three (3) to eight (8) years of progressive work experience in structural engineering, with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in structural building engineering.
  • Professional Master of Science degrees in civil or architectural engineering (with structural focus) from an accredited program with coursework in the following:
    • Mechanics of Materials
    • Structural Analysis
    • Concrete, Masonry, and Steel Design
  • Experience in multi-story concrete and steel structures
  • Working knowledge in Revit, BIM 360, RAM, Tekla, and Enercalc, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

BIM Coordinator

As a BIM Coordinator you will play a key role assisting project teams with specific production and design needs as they relate to BIM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare project BIM Execution plans, run BIM Kick-off meetings, and coordinate project setup
  • Perform Model QA/QC checks on projects
  • Work with project delivery team members to resolve model problems and ensure their full understanding of project, office, and client BIM standards
  • Lead training sessions for project teams on software applications and processes
  • Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, templates, and model content for project delivery use

REQUIREMENTS
