Currently we are seeking a talented individual for the role of Principal to join our team. This individual will be responsible for leading the interview presentation, enhancing and growing relationships with clients, and supporting clients during public meetings. This leadership role will be responsible for project team motivation, recognition and morale. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent Huckabee and maintain client relationships
  • Act as primary liaison between Huckabee team and client/owner
  • Serve as leader to project team and consultants
  • Responsible for project success and oversight of scope, schedule and budget
  • Provide solutions for projects and team challenges
  • Define program requirements and establish project parameters based on client needs
  • Provide long term planning for clients and their future projects
  • Create and develop overall project/design concepts; formulate project presentation strategies and client presentations
  • Work with all consultants throughout design phases
  • Maintain project budget and communicate updates with owner
  • Manage client interaction and decision making related to projects
  • Mentor, train, and guide project teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Architect in the state of Texas preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of local, state and national building codes, regulations and approval processes
  • A working knowledge of public education in the state of Texas
  • Experience in all phases of project management and design, including long-term planning and budget management
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, costs and code applicable to the design process
  • Knowledge of current trends and areas of future growth within industry
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Ability to successfully manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
  • Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements
  • Experience in the marketing process, client interviews and relationship building
  • Proven track record in creating and maintaining a client network and in leveraging that network into design opportunities
  • Proficient in bond program development and cost analysis
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
