Channelview High School
Huckabee collaborated with Channelview ISD to renovate and expand their high school with input from the community. The outcome of this collaboration resulted in exciting additions and upgrades to the school.
One significant aspect of the project is the career and technical education classroom addition, which spans two floors and provides instructional space for up to 340 students. The CTE wing offers opportunities for students to earn industry certifications and college credits in a wide variety of programs including autotech, construction technology, engineering, robotics, culinary arts, criminal justice, A/V, health sciences, agriculture and welding. Additionally, the wing has a private entrance for students to access the CTE programs with ease.
The renovation also repurposed the existing CTE space for academics and fine arts. The fine arts addition is a standout feature of the project, as it includes a performing arts center with 1,000 seats. This new space conveys the significance of the performing arts programs and creates a gathering place for students and the community alike.
Other notable renovations include updates to the library, a new main entrance, enhanced security measures and other upgrades to modernize the building. Overall, the project has significantly enhanced the educational experience for students at Channelview ISD.
