We are currently seeking a Principal to join our team. This individual will be responsible for leading interview presentations, enhancing and growing relationships with clients, and supporting clients during public meetings. This leadership role will be responsible for project team motivation, recognition and morale. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conflict resolution with regards to scope, schedule, and budget of projects both internal and external
• Proactive solutions finder
• Define program requirements and establish project parameters based on client requirements
• Provide long term planning for clients and their future projects
• Create and develop overall project/design concepts; formulate project presentation strategies and make professional and persuasive client presentations
• Work with all consultants throughout design phases
• Monitor project budget and schedule and communicate with owner
• Manage client interaction and decision making related to projects
• Ability to mentor, train and guide

REQUIREMENTS

• Licensed Architect
• 7+ years experience
• Proven experience and expertise in all phases of project management and design, particularly long-term planning and budget
• Thorough knowledge of building materials, construction methods, costs and code applicable to the design process
• Knowledge of current trends and areas of future growth within industry
• Experience in public speaking
• Demonstrate ability to successfully manage client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
• Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements
• Experience in the marketing process, client interviews and relationship building
• Proven track record in creating and maintaining a client network and in leveraging that network into design opportunities
• Proficiency in bond program development and cost analysis
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
• Ability and willingness to travel as necessary in support of firm
• Knowledge of local, state and national building codes, regulations and approval processes
• A working knowledge of public education in the state of Texas
