Huckabee Celebrates the Success of Three Bond Elections

May 14, 2012

Huckabee is proud to announce the success of over $55.6 million in successful May bond programs. Congratulations to Bonham ISD, Stephenville ISD and Whitney ISD on the victory of each of their elections for new and renovated facilities!

Huckabee worked with each of these districts to develop their bond proposals and implement their voter education campaigns.

Stephenville ISD
The community of Stephenville demonstrated overwhelming support for the school bond election on the May 12 ballot. Voters undoubtedly approved a $24 million bond program that will provide additions and renovations to Central Elementary School and Chamberlin Elementary School facilities. An impressive 68 percent of the 2,916 voters cast their ballots for these projects.

Whitney ISD
In Whitney ISD, voters passed two propositions for a total bond program of $24,645,000 that will construct a brand new middle school, renovate the existing middle and intermediate school and build a new 8-lane track. Proposition One, the new middle school and renovations, passed with 57 percent in favor.

Bonham ISD
Voters in Bonham ISD approved a $7 million bond program to improve conditions at I.W. Evans Intermediate School. The bond will address an aging and inefficient facility through renovations and new additions to the school. The bond program passed on May 12 with 60 percent of voters in favor.

Huckabee is honored to have worked with all three districts to plan and implement successful bond campaigns, and is now excited to begin the design phase for each project!

The college received more than was expected and well ahead of schedule even after a belated notice to proceed.
