"It’s all about the kids," says Chris Huckabee, addressing the firm, a concept that runs deep into the heart of every "Huckabee-an." Before the first meeting with the client, before the first sketch on paper and through the process of construction close-out, the impact that we have upon children is foremost in our minds. It’s clear to us that our future depends greatly upon educating the youth in the world and that we have a responsibility in providing learning environments that will enhance and inspire their desire in preparing for the opportunities of the future. This passion began under the leadership of Tommie Huckabee in 1967, was carried through by his son Chris in 1996, and still holds strong today by the Huckabee team. Designing learning environments that meet the needs and requirements of the client, building them from time-tested, durable materials that have proven to resist heavy wear and tear, providing long term cost effective design solutions, and developing concise, clearly detailed documents are just a few traditions started by Tommie. And since our founding, Huckabee has held true to them, successfully delivering over 1,100 educational facilities and over $2 billion in construction costs. Although meeting the needs and requirements of our clients is a tradition, our goal is to exceed their expectations. We understand that each client has its own unique set of challenges, and all expect their projects to meet the scope of work, stay on schedule and be on budget. We understand these basic expectations are not to be taken for granted and must be delivered successfully on a consistent basis; therefore, Huckabee continues to work aggressively in developing new client service-related processes. Teamwork is an essential part of the Huckabee process of consistently delivering quality and value to the educational market. Our definition of teamwork is one that is based upon the concept that each team member is a client to one another. Huckabee consists of many different teams such as the construction team, production team, administration team, marketing and graphics team and engineering teams; all which are a critical part in delivering a project. We understand that our success in serving our clients relies solely upon how well Huckabee works together as a team. We are committed to designing buildings that are cost effective, easy to maintain and durable for the long term. We are careful in the selection of building materials to ensure a long-lasting facility, especially to the ones that make up the building envelope such as the exterior walls, roofing and foundation. In 2000, Tommie Huckabee sold the company to his son Chris. Huckabee & Associates then became an employee-owned company. With ownership, all employees are a part of the Huckabee family. Chris and all the Huckabeeans have held on strong to the great traditions of his father and have developed a passion in taking them to the next level. In the end, it is not about the building. It is not about Huckabee and how many design awards we can collect. What is most important is the trust established between the community, Board of Trustees, District staff and the Huckabee team during the process of creating and designing facilities for the most important people in our lives.....kids. They are the future! |
